Sustainable business operations

As a company, we do everything we can to produce as sustainably as possible. For example, there are 105 solar panels on the roof of our factory, which means that we produce more than energy neutral. Last year, we stopped using gas and now heat our rooms using a heat pump, among other things. We built our office in Aalsmeer ourselves from recycled materials and construction waste. You can read the article about the construction of our office here .

We do everything we can to make our products as tasty and sustainable as possible. Peanut butter is good for our planet! In addition to the peanut plant absorbing nutrients, the plant also absorbs nitrogen and then deposits it in the soil. As a result, the peanut plant fertilizes the soil itself and therefore leaves behind a richer soil. This is very valuable, because the farmer no longer has to do this with artificial or animal fertilizer! The peanut is a legume and has a significant advantage over nuts: the peanut plant needs much less water and also emits much less CO2. Eating more peanut butter means leaving behind a better planet. I think it is a special phenomenon that peanut butter is so tasty, contains a lot of proteins and good fats and also turns out to be a very sustainable topping. With peanut butter topping (haha) you are in a good future! 😉 It is not without reason that we keep the percentage of peanuts in each jar as high as possible. Each jar contains at least 88% (natural no less than 98%!) peanuts. Our peanuts come from Argentina, where modern agriculture is practiced with huge pieces of land and large machines. The working conditions and the income of the farmer are of a high standard here, which is an important condition for us to use these peanuts! Read more about it here . We try to avoid plastic as much as possible. That is why our jars are all made of glass with a metal cap. This is not always convenient, but it is the best for our planet! We are almost the only ones (with a few exceptions) who do not use palm oil but coconut oil in our peanut butter. We can proudly say that we were the very first to use coconut oil in our peanut butter. Read why we do that here . In addition, we use as many ingredients as possible without pesticides. Furthermore, none of our jars end up on the waste mountain, because we sell residual products from production as a promotion in our stores or they go via Too Good To Go.😊 All this makes the peanut butter from De Pindakaaswinkel a lot healthier and more sustainable than other peanut butters with flavor! Below you can see our golden triangle , which is why we say: Peanut butter on the pedestal it deserves!
