Introducing Peanut Butter to a Baby

Nowadays, one of the most common allergies is a nut allergy, and specifically peanuts. More and more elementary schools are banning peanut butter on bread to school because of this increasing number. But did you know that introducing peanut butter to children at an early age can actually help against allergies?

https://depindakaaswinkel.nl/?p=14477 What you learn as a youngster is what you do when you're older

Between 4 and 6 months, babies start to be open to new flavours. By starting with vegetables as a practice snack during this period, the baby learns to appreciate and accept less sweet flavours. It is important to introduce the flavours one by one by only practising the next flavour after a week. Babies can be introduced to peanut butter from 6 months. When weaning off relatively fatty milk food, it is important that a baby gets healthy fats in a different way. Peanut butter is the ideal substitute due to the amount of proteins and healthy fats. It is important that the peanut butter given to babies contains as little added sugars and salts as possible. Therefore, use our baby peanut butter , which has been specially developed for the very youngest. Many babies do not like peanut butter the first time because of its sticky texture. Most babies only get used to a flavour after tasting it 8 to 10 times. It is therefore important to consistently include the flavour in the diet. baby with peanut butter

What is the best way to introduce peanut butter?

  • Use peanut butter with 85% to 100% peanuts and as little sugar and salt as possible, such as our special baby peanut butter
  • Mix the peanut butter with the baby food
  • Introduce it slowly! Start with a teaspoon every now and then for the first week, then move on to a tablespoon after a few weeks
  • Stop if you notice any signs of allergy or intolerance. This can be eczema, constipation and diarrhea. Consult a doctor immediately after this.

Benefits of Eating Peanut Butter Early

Not only is peanut butter a great way for a child to get healthy fats and proteins, it is also a proven way to reduce the chance of nut and peanut allergies. Many studies have shown that introducing allergens (such as gluten, lactose, egg and nuts) early can reduce the chance of food allergies later in life. As true Peanut Bosses, we make peanut butter without additives. Our baby peanut butter contains 100% peanuts, no added sugars, salts, E-numbers or binders. Deliciously natural! Is your baby already crazy about peanut butter? Then a Peanut Boss romper is a must. Or order our baby box with the baby peanut butter and a cute romper :)
